siècles, elles ont représenté un idéal d’éternité,
profane ou divin. . Au 20e siècle les icônes modernes ont

Eikôn
in Greek means picture, or, representation. The Portraits of Fayoum,
from the first centuries of our era until the Russian icons of the 16th,
17th, and 18th centuries, represented a secular, or, divine ideal of eternity.
In the 20th century, the modern icons were the cinema actresses. Then,
in the 21st century, icons were dethroned by images of luxury and fashion
(Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer). Even current movie stars
are famous for their advertising images; rather than the roles that they
play (Penelope Cruz, Charlize Theron, Natalie Portman). |
